Jess Newall brings together strong technical accounting knowledge and real-world commercial experience, giving her a valuable perspective from both sides of the numbers. She focuses on providing advice that is practical, timely and genuinely useful to her clients.
Jess takes an approachable, proactive and solutions-focused approach to her work. She enjoys building genuine relationships with clients and taking the time to understand their business, their goals and what they’re trying to achieve, rather than simply focusing on the numbers. Her experience spans business advisory, financial reporting, compliance, internal controls and risk.
Jess began her career in audit at a Big 4 firm, working with a diverse range of businesses from small organisations through to NZX-listed companies. She then moved into an in-house Business Manager role, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the financial and operational management of an organisation, before returning to public practice. Jess joined McCulloch & Partners to bring her technical and commercial experience together in a client focused environment and be part of MCP’s growing presence in Wānaka.
Outside of the office, Jess’s involvement in construction projects gives her practical insight into the construction and accommodation industries. This experience has strengthened her understanding of the commercial realities, challenges and opportunities involved in managing projects and businesses
Jess enjoys making the most of the Central Otago lifestyle and spending plenty of time outdoors. She also loves travelling and catching up with friends and family.
